In Australia, all cars are legally required to be fitted with an immobiliser system. These cars require a transponder key with an embedded electronic transponder chip to start the vehicle. When the key is turned in the ignition, the code is read and the vehicle will only start if the correct code is received. If a transponder key is broken or lost, the vehicle will not start.

At Ballajura Auto Electrics, we use highly sophisticated key programming equipment to programme replacement transponder keys for most makes of vehicles. We can cut and programme all car keys for a fraction of the cost of a locksmith or car dealer. And, with our state-of-the-art equipment, no key codes are necessary.

Stolen Keys

If you think your car keys have been stolen; your first step should be to contact the police. If you feel your vehicle may be at risk, we can erase the stolen keys from your vehicle’s immobiliser box or engine control unit (ECU), re-code the locks to new combinations, and create a new working key, so you don’t have to worry about your car being stolen.

Replacement Keys

All replacement car keys can be cut to code, pattern, or lock. Misplaced car keys can be re-manufactured and cut to code from the vehicle door or ignition lock. If you car is fitted with an immobiliser, it will only operate with a correctly programmed transponder key and we will need to re-programme a new key to your vehicle’s main ECU or immobiliser box.
